On 18 August 2012, Japanese comedian and television personality Takashi Okamura visited Kairali Ayurvedic Centre, New Delhi, during his trip to India.
According to Kairali’s historical records, he visited the centre to experience a traditional Ayurvedic massage.
During the visit, Gita Ramesh, Joint Managing Director of Kairali Ayurvedic Group, welcomed him to the centre. She also presented him with a copy of her book, Ayurvedic Herbal Massages, along with information about Kairali Ayurvedic Group.
Ayurveda’s Growing Global Reach
Over the years, visitors from many countries have travelled to India to learn about Ayurveda and experience its traditional wellness practices.
For many international guests, an Ayurvedic consultation or therapy offers an opportunity to better understand one of India’s oldest systems of health and well-being.
Visits such as this reflect the growing global interest in Ayurveda and its holistic approach to wellness.
Experiencing Ayurveda
Ayurveda places strong emphasis on individual care. Before recommending therapies, a qualified Ayurvedic physician evaluates a person’s health, lifestyle, and wellness goals.
Traditional Ayurvedic massages are selected based on this assessment and form part of a broader wellness programme. Depending on individual needs, these programmes may also include dietary guidance, daily routines, yoga, and lifestyle recommendations.
Individual experiences with Ayurvedic therapies vary, and treatments should always be guided by qualified practitioners.
A Memorable Visit
Takashi Okamura’s visit remains part of Kairali’s history and reflects the growing international curiosity about Ayurveda during the early 2010s.
As awareness of Ayurveda continues to expand around the world, such visits highlight the increasing interest in learning about traditional Indian wellness practices through authentic experiences.
