Kairali on my last
holiday at Kairali Ayurvedic Healing Village I got a chance to be pampered like
a star experiencing Kairali?s Royal Makeover. Here is a blow-by-blow account of
it.
I was welcomed in a traditional
Kerala style in the treatment room with a simple prayer by the two therapists
draped in traditional white sarees with golden borders. That moment itself I
thought, ?This is going to be magical!?.
So my Royal Makeover started with
Padaprakshalanam or the traditional foot massage. With feet soaked in water
with rose petals floating it felt blissful. The therapists meanwhile
concentrated on the vital points of worn-out city dwelling feet.
Then came my favourite part- the
Siro-Abhyangam or the traditional head massage with herbal oils. It?s not only
relaxing but also activates the blood circulation. The full body massage here
was Abhyangam using Kairali?s medicated oils that opens lymphatic channels and
improves blood circulation. The two masseurs performed the complete
synchronization. Half asleep cause of the relaxing effect of the massage I
still couldn?t help thinking how well trained the therapists were as they
rubbed by body in perfect co-ordination. Flawless!
But the point of the Royal Makeover
is not just to relax you, but make you look gorgeous at the end of it. The body
scrub or the Kaya Lepam made from organic products or rather the stuff you find
in a kitchen helped me in getting a radiant skin. The whole body was then
rubbed with a mud pack and while it dried the face and even the eyes were
treated. There was Mukha Abhyangam or an ayurvedic facial and Nethradharan for
cleaning the eyes as rose water is poured from a height.
There was the regular steam bath. And
as took a shower later, without even looking at the mirror I could say it was a
new me with radiant skin and body that felt so good!
