Kairali Group forges JV with Country
Club for developing spas

forges JV with Country Club for developing spas

In order to augment their growth in India, Kerala based Kairali Group
of Resorts and Spa is expanding its network with a Joint Venture (JV) with
Country Club India Ltd. (CCIL). The first spa through this JV is scheduled to
open on October 2, 2007 in Hyderabad. The other cities targeted through this
venture are Chennai, Bangalore with other key destinations being identified
currently. “In this JV CCIL will provide the infrastructure and we will
set up the spa, which they will manage. The agreement is one of profit
sharing,” says Ram Mohan, Vice President Marketing & Public Relations,
Kairali Group of Resorts and Spa. By this year, Kairali Group is targeting
about five to six spas and by the end of 2008 the aim is to have a total of 20
spas.

The Group is targeting the middle and lower income group as their
target audience. Information Technology (IT) is also a potential market, which
the Group is planning to target. “We also do stress management programmes
for corporates, specially the IT sector at their campus and also invite them to
our centres,” explains Mohan. Apart from this, Kairali`s flagship centre
in Khajurao, Madhya Pradesh is undergoing expansion. They are adding 20 more
cottages to the existing property of five cottages. The centre will be ready
with the new cottages by February 2008. On international front, Kairali is
setting up about 10-12 franchisee outlets in markets like Germany, UK, Russia
and USA. Globally, the Group is open to any company willing to open a spa and
Ayurvedic health centre.
