authority on the subject.

The article describes Kairali The Ayurvedic
Healing village as A Healing Village in God?s Own Country where you can unwind
in nature?s lap by spending time ruminating in serenity.

A healing village in god?s own countr.

Palakkad: Jaded with the city?s strenuous lifestyle and want a getaway at a place where you can unwind in nature?s lap by spending time ruminating in serenity? Kairali Ayurveda Healing Village is the place to go to at Palakkad in Kerala.

Spread on a 50-acre verdant landscape, which has more than 1,000
trees on its premises, this ayurvedic health resort offers you a
different experience altogether ? an amalgamation of various ayurvedic
massages combined with meditation, yoga and other therapies.

The resort has 30 pyramid-shaped cottages, which have been designed
keeping in mind Vastu Shastra ? the ancient Indian building text, around
which are softly gurgling water runnels that make you feel you are on a
river bank.

The cottages are divided in four categories ? Maharaja, Royal, Classic and Deluxe.

Their prices range anywhere between Rs.9,500 per day for a deluxe villa and Rs.21,000 per day for a Maharaja cottage.

Besides, the resort houses an ayurvedic garden, swimming pool, an outdoor yoga pavilion, a tennis court and library.

?The concept of this place is to heal you mentally as well physically
with the help of massage treatments which are purely ayurvedic in
nature,? Alavoor Umesh, general manager of Kairali, told.

One can take a stroll on the premises, feeling the gentle breeze and hearing peacocks which make you feel more close to nature.

This resort can be a heavenly place for book lovers who can go on and
on reading while sipping herbal tea amid the chirping of birds.

?I have been coming to this place for the past 15 years. This place
is just fantastic. Whenever I am tired of the city?s hustle and bustle I
come here,? a Chennai based dentist told.

Tourists from abroad, especially Germany, throng this place in good numbers.

?It is a retreat from your hectic life. I come here after every 18
months,? said an Australian female tourist who lives in Dubai.

The resort has 22 treatments for ailments like sinusitis, migraine,
arthritis, skin diseases, infertility, slip disc and spondylitis. It
also has wellness packages for obesity, de-stressing and rejuvenation.

?It is not like spa massages which are about pampering your body. Our treatments have healing effects,? said Umesh.

The massage rooms are kept very simple, with only a wooden plank in
the centre of the room. The synchronised movements of hands of two
masseurs on your body takes you to a different world altogether.

Abhyangam, Dhara and Elakizhi are few of the popular massage treatments.

The resort has several packages which range from four days to 29
days, depending on the treatment. The health resort is 50 km from
Coimbatore and is a 2 hour drive by car.
